Embracing Motherhood.
Let me introduce you to Brooke, one of my closest friends, whose wedding I had the honor of capturing in the South of France last June. As I excitedly anticipate her transition into motherhood, I embarked on the task of creating images of pregnancy that are real and beautiful without all the frills.
Recently, I've been obsessed with the simplicity of in-studio photos. Perhaps it's my yearning for a break from shooting in the summer heat, but these sessions always push me to think outside the box when it comes to directing. I decided to experiment with this approach with my dear friend Brooke, with whom I bonded over our shared disdain for traditional maternity photos.
I never quite connected with the typical overly cinematic and staged portraits. My focus within photography is on capturing raw emotion and weaving compelling stories. When I chose to shoot maternity with Brooke, my goal was to infuse each image with genuine feeling and a touch of editorial flair, offering a refreshing perspective on maternity sessions.
Stepping into my 30s and inching closer to parenthood with my husband Caleb, my passion for maternity photography takes on a deeper meaning. This newfound perspective has ignited my creativity, inspiring me to capture the essence of all stages of life with authenticity and beauty.
