We first chose Emma based off her work portfolio! They have always been beautiful, rad, and full of personality type photos. She shot our engagement session and we fell in LOVE with the photos. They were just US. She makes you feel natural while shooting, all the while directing you exactly where she wants you. Direction is my opinion is key because, like, I'm awkward okay, and I want someone to tell me exactly where everything needs to be! Pose me but don't make it look posed haha! And she nails it every time. Our wedding and reception had so many changes due to the world of 2020. Emma adapted and gave her assistance in any part of it that she could. The day of our wedding in California, her and her husband Caleb, were ROCKSTARS. Emma felt like not only our photographer but also our wedding coordinator! She was key to the day succeeding and she was down for everything. She always gave her professional opinion to ensure we got the most out of the scenery and day. Caleb, her husband not only assisted Emma like a dream, he made our client experience that day 10/10. He ensured we had our favorite tunes blasted while taking pictures to make the whole experience of our wedding day that much better. He encouraged booze when it was WELL needed for the stressed brides we were. And he ensured Emma had everything she needed to kill it on her end. As a bride, there's about 2000 things to think of and plan for. The thing that is BY FAR the most important, is your photographer. I had heard this, I knew this, but I FELT THIS when we had our special day with Emma. In the midst of a global pandemic and an engagement that turned into a 2 year endeavor, we eventually had to make many changes that the week of the wedding and coordinate with so many people. Emma was a key reason I didn't absolutely lose my shit during an already stressful time. She was a friend, a boss bitch and commanded the situation and helped us navigate the craziness that was a COVID wedding.

Now, onto her photography. This to me is something that is so clear in all her galleries, but her talent, vision and execution feels SO much better when they are photos of you and your person. The whole experience from engagement photos to wedding day exceeded our expectations and while I already knew they would be amazing, she made them feel so special to us and exactly what we wanted. Words will never be able to express my gratitude for having Emma, The Bold Americana, as my wedding photographer. From the moment I met Emma, I was just in awe of her cool, calm and collective aura that surrounded her. I instantly knew she was the exact person I NEEDED in my life on my wedding day!!

Our destination wedding wasn't the easiest to get prepared for (hello pandemic), but throughout the entire process Emma remained supportive, encouraging and continued to make me excited for what was about to come-which was sometimes difficult task given the daunting circumstances. We were fortunate enough to share a flight with several people from our wedding party AND Emma and her amazing husband who joined her. After boarding the plane, it was evident that the Lundberg's were going to fit right in with our (sometimes wild) crew-and that made the entire trip just that much more enjoyable! It felt like we added long time friends to our group that meshed right in with our wedding activities! Basically, you'll get to hang out with the most genuine and fun people in the universe!

And obviously Emma's work speaks for itself. She is clearly an experienced photographer and has the ability to create extremely unique images . From day one, Emma was a true professional and totally in tune with her surroundings. She provided my husband and I an incredible atmosphere with her enthusiasm and helpful guidance to get the best pictures taken. Emma is amazing! It is such a delicate balance to capture a beautiful photo while simultaneously representing the emotion and love of an event, but a five minute visit to The Bold Americana Instagram illustrates how gifted she is at accomplishing that. Her eye for photography is nothing short of excellent. I'm sure it would be easy to be a very good wedding photographer based off of her talent alone... However, what separates Emma is her work prior to the event. It was abundantly clear that she was invested in my engagement from the moment I first started working with her. She could not have been more supportive throughout the process. Emma took the time to get to know me and my vision for a proposal in a very kind and deliberate way. She navigated some last minute hiccups with grace and aplomb. By the time that she was shooting our proposal, it really felt like having a friend along for the ride, rather than a stranger intruding into our moment.
